Internships

Shown below are our Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine students practicing their taping and wrapping. Also, pictured below are students practicing various drills and exercises used in physical rehabilitation. Students learn how to tape all joints, e.g. ankles, wrists, and knees, that could possibly be injured during sports. Once the students have passed their taping tests, they are ready for working on the field or court. Students apply their knowledge and experience on their fellow SHS athletes in football, basketball, volleyball, and track and field. In spring, FAST students begin working at various physical therapy and sports training offices, e.g. Balance Physical Therapy, Salinas YMCA, Myers Physical Therapy. The internships provide students practical knowledge about physical therapy and professionalism in the work place.
